Assembly and
check-in.
Check-in takes place at the different accommodation alternatives.
Pick-up of team documents are possible at the
competition centre from 15.00 on Saturday.
The competition centre is situated on Isaberg
Arena by Isaberg Ski resort. Road
guidance from road 26, southern entry to Hestra.

Overview on the Website. Open: Saturday the 25th of October 14.00 – 23.00,
Sunday the 26th of October 07.00 – 14.00.
In case of any problems complains are received by the Competition Centre
Office
Team documents with number bibs, forms for
change of team composition, lunch and breakfast tickets, hired SI-cards (if
any), map coupon, program etc will be handed out to the teams which have paid
all fees. In case payment has been made late, receipt shall be shown to the
treasurer.
NB Team documents are only handed out to clubs who have delivered full
payment.

Situated on Mogatan in Hestra (opposite of the train station).
Lost and found
Are handled by the Competition Centre Office
Team composition.
Name and SI-card number for the runners of the differents
legs should be submitted latest on Friday 24th of October at 24.00 through our
website www.smalandskavlen.nu Changes made after
this time should be made on a special form at the Event Centre latest at 18.00
on the first day of the race. Teams without complete composition are not
permitted to Start. Reported SI-cards
for each leg must be used.
Accommodation,
dinner, lunch and breakfast
The accommodation may be used
from Saturday 14.00 until Sunday 09.00. Please notice that there will be a
special information sheet for the accommodation. Pre-ordered breakfast will be
served at the accommodation sites between 05.30 and 08.00. Please be on time
considering the risk of queuing.
Parking
Only permitted in assigned places by the Competition
Centre, maximum walking distance 200m. Parking
fee: 10 SEK/day. Busses
parks for free.
Caravans are directed to the campning nearby. See accommodation booking for more
information

Terrain
Hilly terrain with slopes that are rich in
details. Mixed forest, mainly spruce, with few marshes.
There are paths and forest roads crossing the area.
There are several ski slopes crossing the area. Mainly
good runability, but there are some areas with dense
forest and clear-cut forest as well.
Warning! The steep slopes can be very slippery, specially
when the weather is humid
Prohibited areas.
Gardens and other forbidden
areas marked on the map must be kept off.
Prohibited area which on the map is marked with a whole line is in the
terrain marked with long blue/yellow strips.

The walking track cross the
competition area and are marked with white strips, please respect this.

Snow cannons are marked on the
map with a small black circle and an “x” on the Checkpoint descriptions.
Charcoal burning ground are marked with a black circle on the map.

Trees which have fallen due to storms are marked as dense areas.

Checkpoints
Checkpoints during the night legs are only
marked with a red-white-blue reflector.
Checkpoints used on the day are marked with a orange-white control flag.

Number
bibs.
Last leg has the team number printed in red. Leading team of Swedish
League will have specially marked number bibs.
NB! No security pins will be provided for the number bibs. Security pins can be picked up at the Event Centre
Office for those who wishes.

ARENA Please respect prohibited areas, marked with
strips.
Punching
system
Sportident (SI). Clearing and
checking of the SI-cards will be made at the start and at the changeover area. Ensure
to clear your SI-card. Runners are responsible for using correct SI-card. When
punching with the SI-card you must receive a light/sound signal as
confirmation. In case of an SI unit failure, try the other units. In last case
use the punch boxes on the map together with the pin punch. Runners who have
used the pin punch shall keep the map and show it at the “red exit” after
changeover/finish.
After changeover or finish
runners must proceed to the area for downloading the
SI-cards, follow instructions. Hired cards must be returned after downloading.

SI-cards can be rented at the Competition Centre Office at a cost of
30SEK.

Differing method.
In all classes.
Map change
H21 and D21 has to change map once on the last
leg.
Note that checkpoint 200 occurs on both parts of the last leg of H21 and
D21.
There is no map change for the shorter version of the last leg of H21
(i.e. teams participating
in the restart)
Changing area.
Only runners may stay in the changeover field. The
Entrance is clearly marked on the area.
Changeover.
The runner is responsible for
using correct lane when running to the changeover field. When changing over,
the punching will be made at the finishing line, thereafter the map is dropped.
Incoming runners will change with the map of the outgoing runner. TAKE THE MAP
WITH YOUR TEAM NUMBER! Team with the wrong map will be disqualified. Teams that
are affected will have a new map from a funtionary at
the end of the map board, but will have no time compensation. Always control
that the teamnumber and legnumber
on the map is correct. It is the responsibility of the runners to change over
with the right map.
Finish.
Runners are responsible for
using correct finishing lane. Punching will be made after the finish line.
Referee will determine the order.
Wild animal report.
At the finish, please report
observations of moose and roe deer
Beverage.
Water/Energy Drink
Available on all legs except
legs with expected winner time below 40 minutes.

Descriptions on Saturday (night legs)
Delivery of maps.
Will be made at the event
centre office when first team in H21 have reached the
finish and the restart, if any, has been made. The speaker will inform about
the time for this. The map coupons are found in the team documents.
Changing
and shower.
Outdoor shower and
tents next to the Arena.
Toilets.
Indoors for Women and
outdoors for Men, situated behind the sports tent. Also by the
changing lane (limited capacity).
First aid.
Situated in the floor below the Competition Centre
Office, entrance behind the results. There is one first aid place
in the competition area, marked on the maps with a red cross.
Restaurant
Forehand ordered food will be
served on the Arena on Saturday from 18.00 to 22.00 and on Sunday from 10.00
until 14:30.

There are also traditional
grill, kiosk and café at several places on the arena.
Price ceremony.
In conjunction with
ISABERG ARENA at 12.30 (approx.). The Småland
Trophy:10 000 SEK to the
best club totally in H21, D21, H16 and D16.
Prices will be given to the
best teams of each class.

Handover to next years hosts
of Smålandskavlen
In a special ceremony after the Price Ceremony, Smålandskavlen
will be handed over to next years hosts of Smålandskavlen.
Next years event will be held in Tenhult
hosted by Tenhults SOK, Jönköpings OK and IK Hakarpspojkarna.
Internet
The competition will be possible to follow from home via Internet.
There will be live-speaker sound and live-results
available on the website www.smalandskavlen.nu
during the competition.

Restart:
Sunday at 12.00
for all legs. The changing over will be closed at 11.45.
Shortening of the last leg for H21 in the restart:
The shortened last leg of H21 will not have a map change.
I.e. the runners shall head for the finish after punching checkpoint 200
on the first part of the last leg of H21.
There will not be any Finish sign on the Map for the last leg of H21 due
to printing reasons.
